EBIL blitz Star C.C.
A splendid performance from Emirates Bank allowed them to post a massive
victory by 186 runs over hapless Star C.C. in the ongoing Bukhatir League
'B' Division - 30 overs event, conducted by the Sharjah Cricket Council.
Star bore the full brunt of the might of EBIL who registered a big total of
276 for 9 in there allotted 30 overs. Mercurial all-rounder Akbar Rana led
the batting and smashed a sparkling 85 off 53 balls with 10 fours and 3
sixes. One drop Sajid Latif too was in great nick as he stroked a breezy 60
off mere 30 balls with 11 fours and a six to bolster the innings while
veteran Maqsood chipped in with a more than useful 41 off 29 balls with 4
fours and a six. Rashid (3 for 34) was the pick of the bowlers while Azmat,
Alam and Iqbal, though expensive, picked up a couple of wickets apiece.
Start C.C., in reply, could not do anything and folded meekly at a paltry
total of 90, under the sheer weight of the big total. Opener Shahid (39)
was the only player to offer any resistance of any kind against a tidy
attack. The mopping operations were done by man of the match Akbar Rana (2
for 12) and Saleem Saeed (2 for 10) after Saleem (3 for 44) and Kutty (2
for 24) had softened the top order.

Truebell thump ECB Green
Truebell C.C. showed their true colours when they thumped ECB Greens by a
big margin of 9 wickets.
Set to chase a none too difficult target of 159 for victory, inform Tarif
and opener Sajid batted well to ensure the big victory in 20.4 overs. Man
of the match, Tarif Sharma was again in his element as he hit a quick fire
unbeaten 71 off 46 balls with 6 fours and 5 sixes while Sajid played a more
sedate 59 off 61 balls with 5 fours. The duo added 128 fine runs for the
unbeaten second wicket partnership that sealed the fate of the match.
Earlier ECB Greens did not fare well and could only muster a modest total
of 158 for 7 in the allotted overs. Fardan (37) and Rashid (35 n.o.) were
the principal run getters while Faiz (2 for 26) was the most successful
bowler.
Slowly getting back to their old sure-self were the CTC Club who put up a
competent performance and subdued Madras C.C. by a handsome margin of 55 runs.

Rohit wrecks Madras as CTC win
A good total of 212 all out in 30 overs by CTC proved adequate enough as
excellent bowling by Rohit ensured a good victory in the end. Rohit was at
his destructive best as he ran through the top order of Madras C.C. with
impressive figures of 4 for 31 that put paid to the chances of Madras C.C.
Later Vinay exploited the opening to the hilt and mopped up the tail in a
devastating spell of 4 for 6 in mere 2.1 overs that proved to be the last
nail in the coffin as Madras C.C. were ultimately dismissed for 157. Good
effort from Anand (24), Suresh (43) and Balan (28) saved some blushes for
their team.
Earlier a good team effort allowed CTC to post a highly competitive total
of 212 for 10 in the allotted 30 overs. Opener Jitesh compiled a highly
efficient half-century while useful support came from Rohit (32), Prakash
(29) and Wasim (25). But for a fine effort from Rahul (4 for 29) and Navin
(3 for 26) that went in vain, the total could have been much bigger.
