Tellicherry dispatch Farooq C.C.

Rothmans Royal Tellichery continued their winning run and disposed off Farooq C.C. with consummate ease in the ongoing Bukhatir League 'B' Division - 30 overs event conducted by the Sharjah Cricket Council.

In a lacklustre display, Farooq C.C. disappointed themselves as they could only put up a small total of 128 for 7 in the end. The disciplined attack of their rivals did not allow any leeway as only 61 runs were scored off the first 15 overs. Gopal (3 for 19) proved to be their nemesis as he led a spirited bowling attack and caused the downfall in company of Jilka (3 for 30). Opener Omer held the innings together with a well made 54 off 64 balls while brothers Nasir and Yasir contributed 21 runs apiece.

Set to chase a simple target, RR Tellichery batted well to ensure a victory by 6 wickets. T Ansari dominated the innings with a 19-ball blitz to hit a hurricane 54 including 7 fours and 3 sixes while Yogesh made a useful 24. Nasir was the successful bowler with 2 for 45.

Truebell snub CTC

Truebell were the other team in form who hammered CTC Club by 5 wickets to notch a comfortable victory.

Nothing went right for CTC Club except the toss, which they duly won and elected to bat, and the match was as good as over by the 10th over as CTC Club slumped to 43 for 7. Tarif (4 for 31) bowled well to undermine their rivals with impressive figures while Faiz (2 for 31) provided excellent support.

However the tail wagged merrily as Hafiz fought a grim battle with a fine unbeaten 40 off 59 balls with a solitary four and a six. He got invaluable support from Asif (24 n.o.) as the duo retrieved the situation with a brave unbeaten partnership for the 9th wicket that yielded 50 valuable runs. Farid (21) was the other batsman to play well.

With half the battle won, Truebell C.C. batted sensibly to ensure a good victory by 5 wickets. Kashif played a forceful knock of 43 off 24 balls with 4 fours and an equal number of sixes while Sajid (30), Adil (25 n.o.) and Sohail (22) helped complete the job without much sweat. Tyrone (2 for 19) bowled well.
