Devendar's impressive show sinks Seven Seas

BY : SYED WASEEM AFZAL.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Seven Seas received their first blow when Qader (17) fell to Ambe. However, consistent Saleem Khan steadied the innings and scored 53 off 48 deliveries. Opener, Tuan (31) lent support to Saleem in a stand of 61 for the second wicket.

Davendar bowled a fine spell of 6 overs taking 2 vital wickets and conceding 16 runs and also effected a run out. Other ISC bowlers shared the wickets, Tarun, Shaji and Sujith all finishing with two,

Set to chase a modest 154 for victory, ISC batted well to achieve the target in 22.1 overs with 5 wickets in hand.

ISC's reply was built around Sunil and Davendar after paceman Arfan struck twice to leave ISC 2 down for 22. The dismissal of Sunil (38) and Devendar (48) in quick succession gave Seven Seas a slight hope of an unlikely victory, but veteran Shaji unbeaten on 28 and Sujith (12*) guided their team to home safely. Devendar top scored with 48 off 40 balls with 7 fours.

Arfan and Saleem Khan claimed two wickets each for Seven Seas Strikers.

CSS pip Lloyds Bank by 9 runs

BY : SYED WASEEM AFZAL.
Ajith Putran played with his flamboyant style and went after the attack and smashed 79 runs from just 32 balls studded with 15 fours. Where as Rowmahs played sensibly for his 30 off almost a run a ball but fell to Kishen. The opening partnership produced 119 runs and laid the platform for a big total.

CSS capitalized on that opening stand as middle-order batsmen stuck to their task of scoring runs. Asghar (50), Maqsood (29), Aqeel(14*) whipped the bowlers to all parts of the ground, helping CSS set up an imposing total of 269 for 6 from 27 overs. Ajith and Samarasekhera were clubbed for 58 runs and 69 runs respectively from their 6 overs. Ajith took two wickets while Samarasekhra, Mashood, and Kishen took a wicket each.

Facing a daunting target, Lloyds Bank did not give up with out a fight and started the run chase in earnest. Openers Kamal (37) and Ashok (22) led the strong batting charge while Samarasekhra (42) and Mashood (42) made useful contributions and took their team to the brink of an unlikely victory. However, Vikas did not lie down and hit 32 runs to carry his team close to the victory but just ultimately fell 9 short off the target.

Maqsood (2/34), Naeem (3/49) and Rizwan (2/35) bowled well to provide vital break throughs for CSS.

Khurram strikes for Shetty International

BY : SYED WASEEM AFZAL.
A fine all-round performance by Khurram (4 for 20 and 34*) was the feature of Shetty International's victory as he first helped his team dismiss their opponents for a paltry 112 in 26.1 overs and then batted wisely to achieve the target with consummate ease. Usman Saleem and Khurram rescued their team after they were in early trouble at 11 for 2. The duo played freely and sensibly and led their team to an easy victory with 7 wickets in hand.

Earlier Farooq C.C. were skittled out for 112 runs with Akif top scoring for them with 33. Khurram impressed with some tight bowling and was rewarded with a rich haul of 4 wickets while Sherfuddin struck twice early on to put brakes on Farooq CC.
