Welfit Kasargod ride on
Ashraf's unbeaten century

Opener Ashraf hammered a fluent unbeaten century to steer Welfit Kasargod to a convincing 60-run victory over Farooq CC in the Quickline 30 overs cricket tournament, organised by the Dubai Cricket Council.

The talented batsman slammed 128 not out off just 82 balls which included 21 fours as Welfit Kasargod, batting first, amassed 247 for nine in the allotted 30 overs. Ashraf was well assisted by Nasir (22) and Nasir Sayed (20). Mahmood Pir Baksh took three wickets for 52 runs.

In reply, Farooq CC made a determined effort, but failed to match with the spiraling run rate. Salman (35) and Yasir (31) were the main scorers. Shabbir, Hyder and Salam shared six wickets to restrict Farooq CC to 183 for nine.

Ajith's all round show steam
rolls powerful DNATA 'B'

In another match, Ajith Puthran produced a fine all-round performance as CSS beat Emirates 'B' by 47 runs. Ajith first hit 57 off 34 balls which included six fours and three sixes and then snapped up three wickets for 23 runs to check the Emirates team.

CSS, batting first, scored 203 for four. Besides Ajith, Asghar Ali (23),Maqsood (31) and Naemullah (48 not out off 31 balls with four fours and two sixes) chipped in with useful contributions.

The Emirates team, in reply, were restricted to 156 for nine. Khurram Khan did bulk of the scoring with a solid unbeaten 71 which included five fours and four sixes.

EBIL edge out Lloyds TSB

In a all-bank clash, EBIL edged out Lloyds TSB Bank by one wicket. Batting first, Lloyds Bank scored 135 for nine. Veteran Johanne top scored with 41 while Sanjay, Usman Kutty and Maqsood took two wickets each. EBIL, in reply, survived some anxious moments before winning the match in the last over. Baber Malik (29) and Usman Kutty (27 not out off 19 balls with one four and one six) played well. Kamal (three for six) and Mashood (four for 11) were the main wicket-takers.
