Dulsco lift Etisalat Cup

TASKEEN SIDDIQUI

MUSHTAQ

BY : SYED WASEEM AFZAL.
In a high scoring match, Mushtaq's ton for Al Maghrib failed to stop Dulsco from clinching the title. Taskeen Siddiqui won the day for Dulsco as he first snapped up 4 wickets and then went on to score a splendid knock of 94 from 84 balls.

Right handed Taskeen opened the innings with Sajid Butt and the duo never looked in any trouble as they scored runs freely and to all part of the ground. Dulsco got off to a flying start as the pair put up an invaluable 143 runs for the first wicket partnership and placed the team on the right path with a positive beginning. Sajid Butt looked well set when he was out lbw for 46. Taskeen hit 15 boundaries in his 84-ball innings of 94.

One drop Azeem blossomed again and hit an unbeaten 44 off 35 balls, studded with five fours and a towering six. After the departure of a of Taskeen, Arshad joined Azeem in an unbeaten 47 run partnerhip to steer Dulsco to home with 2.3 overs to spare and 7 wickets in hand. Arshad scored an unbeaten 23 off 19 balls. Aslam, Akram, and Mushtaq took one wicket each.

Earlier, Mushtaq stroked his way to a well composed century, making a superb 120 off 106 balls. His knock included 17 fours, but his ton was overshadowed by the heroics of Taskeen. However, his opening partner, Imtiaz made a classy 55 off 51 balls as the pair put on 109 for the first wicket. Khalid was the only other batsman crossing the double figure mark but beside these contributions, Al Maghrib's batting card looked dismal with no other batsmen providing support to Mushtaq.

Al Maghrib was moving along nicely at 109 for one but the pivotal moment of the match came when Taskeen was introduced in to the attack. He scalped four vital wickets and therefore put the brakes on Al Maghrib scoring. Jahangir was the other successful bowler returning with figures 2 for 33. Al Maghrib ended at 241 runs in their allotted 35 overs.
