Ex-Pakistan Test Cricketer, Tauseef Ahmed arrives

Ex-Pakistan International Tauseef Ahmed has arrived to take over the reins of the steadily improving Emirates Cricket Coaching Centre whose lads recently returned from their second successful tour of England.

Tauseef's appearance on the scene will be a major boost for the ECCC as he has emerged as a fine Coach over the years during his stint as the Coach of U-17 & U-19 Pakistan team which has done rather well under his tutelage.

His impeccable track record as a player as well as Coach will keep him in good stead as he has top class credentials and experience of almost two decades in the top league. Tauseef made his test debut as an Off Spinner for Pakistan way back in the 1979-80 Series against Australia at Karachi where he also played his farewell test against Zimbabwe in 1993-94 Series. He made his One-day debut against Sri Lanka again in Karachi in the 1981-82 Series while his played his last ODI in the World Series against Australia in Melbourne in 1989-90.

During his heydays as a player, he served the Pakistan cricket with distinction and has rubbed shoulders with the best in the business and played under the likes of legendary Imran Khan and Javed Miandad.

Tauseef took a total of 93 wickets in 34 Tests that he played for his country with 6 for 45 as his best bowling figures while in 70 ODI's, he took 55 wickets with an enviable economy rate of 2.27 per over.

His deputy Shahzad Altaf is also a Coach of repute and has considerable experience as a player as well as Coach. He was the Coach of UAE U-17 team which did rather well by reaching the semi-finals of the recently concluded ICC U-17 Tournament (Asia Region) at Karachi. Further details may be obtained from 050-6346925.

Under his stewardship with former UAE International Shahzad in tow, the Emirates Cricket Coaching Centre, run under the auspices of Sharjah Cricket Council, is set for much bigger things and is likely to make good progress. The end winners will be the fast-improving boys who will benefit immensely from the vastly experienced Tauseef.
