Five scintillating centuries marked the proceedings in the DCC
Invitation Cup 25-over-a-side tournament, organised by the Dubai Cricket
Council.
The match between Classic Advertisers and Smart C.C. alone produced three
centuries while the other two hundreds came from the Star C.C. vs Lanka Cubs
match.
Jarnail & Shahid sparkle for Star
Jarnail Singh smashed 166 with 21 fours and nine sixes and Shahid hit a
sparkling 160 with 16 sixes and 11 fours as Star C.C. knocked up a massive
371 for three against hapless Lanka Cubs.
The Cubs, in reply,were shot out for 119 with Alam taking four wickets
for eight wickets.

Classic Advertisers flay Smart
Classic Advertisers flayed the Smart C.C. attack at will before scoring 273
for one. Dominic John and Abdul Wahab led the assault with fluent innings.
Dominic hit an unbeaten 124 off 76 balls which included 18 fours and two
sixes while Wahab weighed in with 114 off 64 balls with 23 fours and one
six.
Smart C.C., in reply, were restricted to 181 for eight with Jai Sankar
making a valiant effort to hold the innings together. He scored an unbeaten
106 off 67 balls with 15 fours. Javed took three wickets for 28 runs.

Lanka Colts down Kerala
In another match, Shane Labroy turned in a fine all-round performance to
help Lanka Colts beat Kerala C.C. by seven wickets. Kerala, batting first,
scored 160 for nine. Ashly top scored with 93 not out off as many balls.
Shane took four wickets for 26 runs.
Lanka Colts, in reply, achieved the target in 19.5 overs with seven
wickets in hand. Mihira Wijesinghe played well, scoring 70 off 35 balls with 12
fours while Shane (26) and Meroy (30 not out) consolidated the innings.
