The Prize Distribution of CSS Millenium Cup for the year 1999-2000 was held yesterday at Indian Sports Club (ISC). Mr. Raj George, General Manager of Consolidated Shipping Services (CSS) in the presence of Vikram Kaul, Hon. General Secretary of DCC, distributed the awards.

Mr. Mohammed Lokhandwala on behalf of Dubai Cricket Council greeted, Mr. Raj George, and Syed Maqsood, Captain of the CSS cricket team. He applauded CSS 's effort for their support to DCC. Others present were M/s B.S. Shetty, Vikram Kaul, Mohan, Farukh Siddiqui and Anwer Ali Zaidi.

Mr. Kaul, Hon. Secretary of DCC thanked Mr. George and CSS Group for their support in promoting the game. Talking about future plans he said, "We have our plans on for the past 20 odd years and looking at the support and encouragement by people like Mr. T.S. Kaladharan and Mr. Ajai Joseph of CSS, I am sure our goals will be achieved."

Mr. Kaul further stated that today they are on a solid foundation and very shortly they will get their own land alongside Dubai - Abu Dhabi road covering around 200 acres of area. This will be the area where a Stadium with lights and other necessary facilities would be developed. He further said, " We are trying to provide cricket lovers with more and more facilities. Apart from the Stadium we will have 9 more grounds in that area, plus we will also have a cricket nursery where youngsters would be able to get coaching and playing facilities", Kaul said.

Speaking about the success of DCC, he reminded when DCC emerged in 1989 at that time they had only 22 teams, but today the Council has more than 167 teams playing under their umbrella. This is a clear indication of Dubai Cricket Council's sheer dedication and hard work for the promotion of cricket in United Arab Emirates.

On behalf of the CSS Group Mr. George thanked DCC for giving them an opportunity to sponsor such a prestigious tournament. He also congratulated the Winners Indian Sports Club and Runners Up Sana Rent-A-Car for their outstanding performance in the CSS millennium Cup tournament.

Mr. R. George, while speaking about his company said, "Consolidated Shipping Services is now called CSS Group which is due to the foresight of Mr. T.S. Kaladharan and Mr. Ajai Joseph, Managing Director of CSS. The company has entered in to its 6th year of successful operations in U.A.E.

"The secret of success lies in the people, as they are the ones who work hard through team work to achieve the goals," added Mr. George. Today CSS has its own club and they are proud to say that all the members of the team are employed by CSS.

He concluded his speech by boasting CSS success story, "One Team, One Goal and One Achievement."

Mr. Shetty announced that CSS will sponsor CSS Cup this season as well and all the matches of the tournament would be played on DCC grassy grounds.

Mr. Lokhandwala once again thanked all the people who made this tournament a huge success right from CSS who has sponsored this tournament and have taken a keen interest in each and every match that has taken place in the tournament, his colleagues, Umpires and press. He also thanked Mr. Afzal of UAEcricket.com for their support in bringing up all the activities of Dubai Cricket Council on the Website.
