Pakhtoon spring final surprise

Pakhtoon Khwah C.C. were the winners of the ACA Trophy 'A' Division as allrounder Hassan grabbed 4 wickets to lead his team to comfortable victory over ISC Blue.

ISC Blue got off to a good start as Tariq (33) and Amanat (36) took the attack right to the bowlers. Man of the the Match Hassan who took a well-deserved 4/40 off his 8 overs broke the partnership of 66. A big contribution from Joy (74) and helpful 28 from Joytish and Patrick (37) got ISC to a respectable total. Their combined effort allowed them to post reasonable total of 252 all out in 39.4 overs. Zafar (3/42) was also among the pick the bowlers.

Chasing a small target, Pakhtoon achieved the target without much fuss for the loss of only 5 wickets. The Pakhtoon batsman never let the match get out of their hands as their openers Saeed (74) and Zafar (46) ensured a good start with a partnership of 105. Contributions from Tariq (27), Imran (34*) and Hassan (28*) ensured that there was no upset as they batted sensibly to achieve the target with nearly nine overs to spare. Tariq with an expensive 4/70 from his eight overs was the pick of the bowlers for ISC Blue.

Banu flatten Deccan for title

A deadly spell of 5/30 by Adnan enabled Banu C.C. to beat Deccan in the finals of the ACA Trophy 'B' Division.

Electing to bat after winning the toss, Banu got off to a good start as their openers Khaliqin (59) and Shad Ayaz (19) scored freely. After the fall of the first wicket Iqbal (30) and Shahzad (28) ensured that Banu didn't lose their grip. Runs came to them free and fast. The middle order was also supported well by Akhtar (52) and the tail as last batsman Shaukat made a quickfire 57. From their 39.1 overs, Banu made a massive 306 all out of which 39 runs were extras. The only two bowlers who were able to take wickets were Qaisar 4/58 and Adnan 5/30.

From the begining of Decan's innings it seemd that they were not in control of the game as their first 4 wickets fell for only 77 runs, not a good way to chase a massive total of 306. As wicketts kept falling on regular intervals, only four batsman scored twenty or above. Tthe fielding was tight as well as the bowling. Among the pick of the bowlers were Imran who took a well-deserved 3/27 and Shadayaz taking 3/25.

Adnan of Decan C.C. was given man of the match for taking well-deserved 5/30 and scoring 15 runs.
