Evergreen outplay Lanka Cubs

In a good all-round display, Evergreen C.C. did well and beat Lanka Cubs by a big margin of 95 runs in the ongoing Bukhatir League 'B' Division - 25 overs, conducted by the Sharjah Cricket Council.

A competent batting performance saw them put up a big total of 218 for 8 in 25 overs in which man of the match Sahib (52 off 36 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes) top scored. Sahib, in company of Saleh Zada (40 off 35 balls with 3 fours and two sixes) and Suhail (37 off 28 balls with 5 fours and six) were instrumental in the team's good batting performance. The bowling honours were shared by De Silva (2 for 27) and Akbar (2 for 42).

Chasing a stiff victory target of 219, Lanka Cubs collapsed under pressure and could not offer any protracted resistance against the disciplined attack. Shehan (41 off 52 balls with 2 fours) was the only batsman to resist for a while as Lanka Cubs ultimately ended at 123 for 9 in 25 overs to hand over a big victory to their rivals. Rehan (2 for 35) and Ilyas (2 for 21) were the most successful bowlers.

Noor Sunflower down A-One

In another match, a good bowling performance helped Noor Sunflower beat A-One C.C. comprehensively by 5 wickets.

Electing to bat first after winning the toss, A-One C.C. never really got going as wickets kept tumbling at both the ends. Satish (3 for 15), Nadeem (2 for 24) and Aslam (2 for 18) were the chief destroyers for Noor Sunflower as they dismissed their rivals for a paltry 102 in 23.5 overs. Farman (34) and M Ali Malik (23) were the only batsmen to offer some resistance.

Chasing a none too difficult target, Noor Sunflower cruised to the target in 13.4 overs but would be disappointed to lose 5 wickets in the process. Niamatullah (3 for 21 in 5 overs) looked dangerous as he grabbed the top wickets but in the end, the batsmen managed to win the battle. Asif (28) and Satish (16 n.o.) were the top scorers for their team.

CSS continue good perform

In another match, Consolidated Shipping Services expectedly maintained their hundred per cent record and disposed off National Bank of Dubai by 6 wickets without much difficulty.

Chasing 147 for victory, Consolidated Shipping Services cruised to the target in 19.3 overs for the loss of four wickets with the help of a well-stroked 61 by man of the match Riyaz. He was well supported by Ajith (27), Ajay (21) and Naeemullah (29). Hitesh (3 for 33) was the most successful bowler.

Earlier, Consolidated Shipping Services did well to dismiss NBD for 146. Remy (48), Hitesh (27) and Waseem (20) were the only batsmen to stay on the wicket. Rizwan (2 for 3) and Ajith (2 for 20) were the most successful bowlers.
