Mukhtar clobbers True Bell bowling

Mukhtar Kadri slammed a fluent century to steer Solanki Construction to an exciting 16-run victory in a tall-scoring match of the Quick Line 30 overs tournament, organised by the Dubai Cricket Council.

The one down batsman cracked 128 off 59 balls, the highest individual score of the day and put on 145 runs for the third wicket with Abdul Sallam (62 off 44 balls) as Solanki Construction, batting first, knocked up a massive 328 for six. Opener Sayyed Saffan (32) and Azeem (25) were the other major scorers.

Unruffled by the huge task at hand, True Bell replied with determination with openers Adil Butt and Sajid Zahoor building a strong foundation with a stand of 144 runs.

Adil hit a swashbuckling 113 off 63 balls which included 11 fours and three sixes while Zahoor weighed in with 73 off 44 balls (11 fours and one six). Sohail (53) and Tarif Shama (33) did well to maintain the tempo, but quick fall of the lower order denied True Bell what would have been a great victory. Full marks to Solanki Construction bowlers who kept their cool when it mattered most to restrict True Bell to 312 for eight.

Dulsco Stevedores, in reply, built their innings around Rashid (65 not out out) and Azeem (41) and achieved the target in 16.5 overs.
