Emirates Airlines, Expats, ISC and Dulsco scored emphatic victories
in the on going Quickline Cup organized by Dubai Cricket
Council.
Rodrigues in fine form for Emirates Airlines
Peter Rodrigues hit a whirlwind 83 and the ever-reliable
Khurram Khan weighed in with 61 runs to help Emirates
tame Emirates Bank International Limited (EBIL) in a
high-scoring match.
Chasing 223 for victory, opener Rodrigues took the
fight into the EBIL camp with his dashing knock. His 83 runs
came from 76 deliveries and contained one six and six fours.
Khan took over after Rodrigues was caught by Zulfiqar off
Salim's bowling to keep up the run-rate and achieve victory
with five balls to spare.
Earlier, EBIL had put up a respectable 222 for 8 in their
30 overs with experienced Akbar Rana finding his touch
to score a healthy 70 runs off 64 balls. His knock included
eight fours and two sixes. With wickets falling at regular
intervals, Usman Kutty did a magnificent job to score an
unbeaten 44 off only 26 balls to further consolidate the EBIL total.
Shankar was the most successful bowler picking up four
wickets at the cost of 44 fling.

Atif excels for Expats
Syed Atif Ali was another batsman to be among the runs
as he slashed an unbeaten 71 runs from only 56 balls to help
Expats CC to an easy nine wicket win over Bin Belaila CC.
Set to overhaul a target of 160, Syed Atif and his opening
partner Arshad Ali went about their task on a planned manner.
Arshad scored 46 from only 23 balls, including seven
hits to the fence. After the departure of Arshad, Ali and
Jairaj Thakur (30 n.o.) ensured victory with any further
hitch.
Earlier, Bin Belaila were bundled out for 160 in 28.1
overs with opener Arif Sherifuddin top scoring with 77 from
63 balls. Khurram and Vikrant scalped three wickets each.

ISC fire Tellicherry
Sujith conceded just six runs for his four-wicket haul as
Indian Sports Club defeated Nucaf Tellicherry by four wickets in a
low-scoring match.
Niranjan (3 for 16) and Munnappa (3 for 12) also produced
nagging spells to fire out Tellicherry for a meagre 57. Only two batsmen could
cross the double-digit mark in the face of incisive ISC attack.
The ISC bowlers did well to wrap up the Tellichery inning
for just 57 runs with Sujith bagging four wickets, and
Niranjan Naik and Munappa picking up three apiece.
Chasing such a small target, ISC were off to one of their
most bizarre starts as they kept losing wickets at regular
intervals. Devender Taneja did a fine job to steady the boat
with a gritty 22, before Agnelo and Sujith managed to take
the team through in the 16th over.
