Al Masaood stumble; Omeir Travels win
Al Masaood lost to ATB in a thrilling match by 2 runs while
Omeir Travels thrashed their opponents by a comfortable margin in the
Qatar Airways Rolling Trophy organized by Abu Dhabi Cricket Council.
Al Masaood go down to ATB
Al Masaood's Kiran D'Souza's fine all-round performance was in vain as
his team ended on the wrong side of victory in the opening match of the
Qatar Airways Rolling Trophy.
Chasing a modest 137 for victory set by the Abu Dhabi
Travel Bureau (ATB), Al Masaood found the going
tough inspite of a spectacular knock of 43 from Kiran D'Souza.
Electing to bat first, the ATB batsmen could not come
to terms with some hostile bowling from Al Masaood
Travels as they wilted to 136 all out in 22.1 overs. ATB owe
their modest total to man of the match Wency Rodriguez
who lashed out 37 runs. D'Souza's fine howling spell
fetched him 4 wickets for 19 runs, while Asif Masaood
claimed 3 for 39.
The Al Maaaood's reply was none too dashing as they lost
wickets at regular intervals even as D'Souza put a
brave fight with 43. Al Masaood were finally howled
out for 134 in 24.4 overs, falling short by only two runs.
Joseph and Shine Abdul Majeed claimed 2 wickets each.
