Emirates Cup set for a fly off in January

Emirates Airline and Dubai Cricket Council will jointly organise The Emirates Cricket Cup 50-over cricket tournament in Dubai on 12th January, 2000.

Sixteen teams are expected to participate in the tournament, which will be played at the two DCC grounds, Dubai.

"Emirates is delighted to assist the Dubai Cricket Council in promoting cricket in Dubai,' aid Maurice Flanagan, Emirates Group managing director. "We hope that this competition will become a focal point for budding cricketers and provide an incentive for others to try the game," he added.

The two DCC grounds have received official recognition from the International Cricket Council and are approved to stage international competitions.
