Trichur C.C. march to DCC League quarters
Trichur C.C. advanced to the quarter-finals of the DCC 25-overs League cricket tournament
organized by Dubai Cricket Council.
Trichur C.C. advanced to the quarter-finals of the DCC 25-overs League cricket tournament on
a superior run-rate when bad light halted play in their pre-quarterfinal encounter against
Oman Insurance.
Set to over haul a challenging target of 230 to win, Trichur C.C. were in the driver's seat,
when the two umpires, Mohammed Saeed and Mohammed Saleem called off play due to failing light.
Their score was 203 for 6 by the 22nd over of the innings.
However, the man of the match award went to Imran Butt from the losing side for hammering 102
runs off 72 deliveries.
Butt's knock was the cornerstone of Oman Insurance's total of 229 for 8 in their allotted 25
overs. Asif came in handy with 48 runs, while Ganesh chipped in late with 30. Pavan,
Jatindar and Ajeeb took 2 wickets each.
The Trichur C.C. 's reply was determined with solid contributions coming in from Shaji and
Ramesh. They were all set to over haul that target when nature stopped play.
Shaji went on to make 65, while Ramesh chipped in with 57.
