Muthaleef whips Trichur C.C.

Shaji Muthaleef hammered the day's highest individual score as Trichur CC defeat Trans Gulf by 34 runs in the DCC League 25 overs tournament, organised by the Dubai Cricket Council.

Shaji, playing with authority, struck a stroke-filled 98 off 58 balls which included 11 fours. He was involoved in a big 180-run stand for the second wicket with Jathinder, who chipped in with 81 off 53 balls with eight fours and two sixes.

The two batsmen helped their side score 251 for three in the allotted ovders. Trans Gulf, in reply, started off well with their openers -- Ismail (41) and Raghu (67) -- putting on 88 runs. One down batsman Muthu also chipped in with useful 46, but rest of the batsmen failed to maitain pace with the required run rate and lost wickets at regular intervals.

Jathinder followed his brilliant batting display with a haul of three for 27 while Mohan conceded 44 runs for his three wickets as Trans Gulf were restricted to 217 for eight.

CTC smash Seven Seas

In another match, Jitesh smashed 91 off just 51 balls which included 13 fours to lead CTC to a seven-wicket victory over Seven Seas Strikers with seven balls to spare.
