Shetty, Butt, Mohabbat star in Al Rawabi cricket
A couple of five-wicket hauls and an amazing century
marked the second week of the Second Al Rawabi Inter-School
Cricket Tournament over the weekend.
Vikrant Shetty of Our Own English High School, Dubai
claimed five wickets to help his team to 123-run win against
New Indian Model School and an amazing 125 from Zeeshan
Tariq Butt went in vain as his team Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed
from the capital lost by eight wickets to
Sheikh Rashid Al Maktoum Pakistan School, Dubai.
The second five-wicket haul came from Mohabbat of Pak-
istan School, Ajman as they defeated Campus Education by
95 runs.
Shetty was outstanding for Our Own English High School, Dubai as he
scored 32 runs first and then claimed five wickets to cap a fine
all-round performance. But it was the reliable Dushyant with 60 runs
who was the major contributor to the team's total of 242 for 5.
Butt century came off only 87 balls as he set a scorching
pace to smash 12 boundaries in his team total of 199 for 6 in
their allotted 25 overs. Except for Imran Butt (33), none of the
other batsmen could keep him company.
In reply, half centuries from Qamran (51), Aamir (58) and
Zafar (54 n.o.) ensured an easy victory for Sheikh Rashid
School.
Mohabbat was the third performer of the day with his
five wickets for Pakistan School, Ajman against Campus
Education.
Chasing 204 for victory, none of the Campus batsmen
could negotiate Mohabbat's accurate line and length as he
scalped five to walk away with the man of the match award.
