Hosts ADDF win opener

Abu Dhabi Duty Free (ADDF), the sponsors' team began their campaign in the Abu Dhabi Duty Free (ADDF) Trophy on a winning note when they trounced Masters C.C. by 133 runs in the opening match of the tournament, organized by Abu Dhabi Cricket Council.

Batting first, ADDF posted a huge total of 240 for 6 in 25 overs with M. Ilyas (73), Omeer Saeed (24), Waseem Ahmed (36) and Sher Zaman (25) being their major contributors. Mohsin Barwaz claimed 2 wickets for 34 runs.

In a one-sided affair, Masters CC were bowled out for just 107 runs as Anwar Baig was the chief destroyer with three wickets for just 15 runs, while Nadeem Malik and Iqbal Shah claimed two wickets each. Siddiqui top scored with 23 for the losing side.

At the outset of the tournament, Saeed Atiq Salem, chairman, Abu Dhabi Cricket Council, declared the annual event opened.
