Dar, Zubair go on rampage

Seven Seas opener Irfan Dar and Mohammed Zubair smashed scintillating centuries to thrash American University Dubai by a huge margin of 153 runs while Ismail struck a swashbuckling knock of 79 runs for Transgulf to help them cruise home by 9 wickets in the DCC Summer league matches played over the week end.
Irfan Dar was at his aggressive best as he played with his usual flamboyance to knock the stuffing out of the AUD lads and Zubair complemented his effort with his own destructive batting as both whipped up a 266 runs partnership, which carried Seven Seas to a mammoth 309 runs in 25 overs.
Irfan scored an unbeaten 169 runs in 88 balls in which he struck 22 boundaries and 5 sixes while Zubair hit 112 runs in 55 balls with 12 boundaries and a six.
Openers Abhinav (55) and Ziad (44) gave AUD a good start of 100 runs but the rest of the batting caved in as veteran Freddy Sidhwa bagged 2 wickets and Arfan and Faraz bagged 2 and th3ree wickets respectively to bundle out AUD for 156 runs.
Elsewhere, Precision were bowled out for a small total of 116 runs as Asif, Muthu and Nihal shared the spoils. Ismail then made short work of the target by rattling 79 runs in 25 balls with 10 boundaries and 6 sixes to race past the target in 7.2 overs.
