Dubai Cricket Council XI nosed ahead of Abu Dhabi Cricket Council XI by 0.02 points as the third game in the National Bank of Dubai Trophy finished in a winning draw for Dubai Cricket Council.

With this victory, all the three teams have featured in a winning draw with Sharjah edging past Dubai in the first game, then Abu Dhabi getting past Sharjah in the second and now Dubai has moved past Abu Dhabi by a fraction in the third game of this interesting two day series being played in this country for the first time under the sponsorship of National Bank of Dubai.

Abu Dhabi who had won the toss and asked Dubai to bat on the first day saw DCC, declare their first innings with 200 runs on the board in 61.3 overs in which Kashif Khan struck an unbeaten 103 runs in 149 balls. He hit 14 boundaries and the last of these helped him to reach his coveted hundred while DCC notched up 200 runs at the same time and the declaration was applied.

Swing bowler Mukhtar Qadri dazzled with an amazing spell of 6 wickets for 49 runs to be the chief destroyer for DCC.

In the second innings, Kashif Khan once again continued from where he left in the first innings and stroked a lovely knock of 45 runs in 62 balls after both the openers, Arshad Ali and Akbar Rana failed once again.

Kashif struck five boundaries and was well supported by Irfan Dar, who stuck around with a dogged knock of 39 runs in 79 balls in which he hit four boundaries and a six.

Imtiaz Rasool was the pick of the ADCC bowlers with 3 wickets for 38 runs while Aslam bagged 2 for 46 runs.

Needing 255 runs to beat DCC with only two hours of play remaining was a tall task but ADCC did well to finish the day losing only one wicket of Kaif Ghaury (16), who was snaffled by wicket-keeper Zubair off left arm spinner Gopal Jassapara.

Tehseen Zaidi once again batted well hitting a neat 43 runs in 104 balls with six fours while Saqib Ali held his end with 19 runs in 43 balls.
