Al Kabeer clinch thrilling AJ Sports final

In a thrilling finale where battle for supremacy raged all along, Al Kabeer CC did themselves proud when they kept their composure to squeeze past Nucaf Tellicherry by a slender margin of 5 runs on Friday, 9th April 2004 in the final of the AJ Sports Invitation League, conducted by the Sharjah Cricket Council.

Man of the match Ghafoor was the cynosure of all eyes as he played a memorable innings worth a dashing 91 while Aamir (61) played equally forcefully and Kamran (21) too flourished briefly as Al Kabeer CC eventually kicked onto a challenging total of 209 for 8 in 25 overs.

Manoj bowled a tidy spell to capture 4 wickets for 12 runs.

In reply, Nucaf Tellicherry responded with grit and determination with Harish (56), Nasser CTK (41) and Yogesh (41) strongly unleashing their brand of cricket and setting up the stage for a nerve rattling finish.

With 11 runs needed in the last over, Sajjad Butt called upon all his wisdom and bowled a tidy over as Tellicherry managed just six runs to end at 204 for 5 at the end of 25 overs in an absorbing encounter.
