Wellfit snub Futtaim for Bukhatir crown

Wellfit Kasargod churned out a sparkling all round performance and walloped Al Futtaim by a comprehensive margin of 6 wickets on Friday, 9th April 2004 in the final of the Bukhatir League B Division 25 overs, conducted by the Sharjah Cricket Council.

Al Futtaim batting first scored 146 all out in 23.4 overs. Thanks to some fine bowling by Azmath (3 for 18), Sharfan (2 for 29) and Shadab (2 for 41) Shahid put up a brave 48 while Asim (27) chipped in with the next best efforts as a formidable Al Futtaim choked on the big day and failed even to last their full quota of 25 overs.

In reply, Wellfit Kasargod’s Shadab Khan led the charge by slamming a gutsy unbeaten 41 and in company of Firoz (25) steered the eventual victors past the target in 19.2 overs for the loss of 4 wickets.

Peter Perret of Al Futtaim gave away the Winners and Runners-up Trophies on behalf of Sharjah Council.
