Fly Emirates show no mercy

The art of flying high is possibly best reserved by Fly Emirates, who conquered the skies and continued to play with their legendary aggression and mercilessness to outsmart visiting KR Muscat CC by an emphatic margin of 7 wickets on Wednesday in the ongoing CSS Homeward Bound Trophy for the XVI Sharjah Ramadan Floodlit cricket tournament – A Division, conducted by the Sharjah Cricket Council.

The brilliance of a superb all round performance from an exciting player in Javed Ismail and some exceptional team effort proved to be too much for Raha CC, who bruised and bowed out, beaten by a better side.

Fly Emirates went for the jugular right from the word go. They went about the job of demolishing fancied Raha CC with all-out aggression, and ended up notching a rather facile win.

Fly Emirates bowlers held complete sway over the proceedings and shackled the batsmen and did not allow any liberties. All in all it, was aggressive bowling, which going for the kill, decimated the Raha CC.

Their disciplined and clinical approach paid rich dividends as they picked up wickets at regular intervals and undermined the batting, for whom the going was uphill and it became even steeper once the impressive Jaitender (32) departed.

Pacer Aurangzeb (3 for 9 from 7 overs) was in terrific form and caused a bombardment of headaches to the batsmen who failed to negotiate him. Arshad Ali (3 for 21) and Javed Ismail (2 for 29) also joined in the demolition as Ajit Kolte (20) and Ojas Mehta (19) were the only other batsmen to offer some stout resistance before Raha CC crumbled to 113 all out in 34.4 overs.

In reply, it was a polished display of batting by one of the best in the business, Javed Ismail. The Raha CC bowling neither had the wherewithal nor the will to stop the flow of runs from his blade as Fly Emirates achieved their objective with relative ease, though they were made to work hard for their runs.

Javed Ismail’s dominance was complete as he mastered the attack shrewdly and batted with conviction and control to help Fly Emirates overcome a spirited Raha CC challenge in 25.2 overs for the loss of 3 wickets.

Man of the match, Ismail was all fired up to have a say on the proceedings as he got about the job of collecting runs in a most positive manner and held the side together with a classy unbeaten 69 while Kamran weighed in with the next best contribution of 15 as Rohan (2 for 18) bowled well and threatened to upstage his illustrious rivals but his quest remained elusive.
