• All matches will be played under the existing ICC laws unless specified.

  • Players must have a valid UAE residence visa. In case of any doubt of participating player status, kindly contact the council for clarification / permission, in advance. Teams may include up to a maximum of three players from other teams in their playing eleven.

  • All teams will play preliminary single league matches with each other in their respective group. Top two teams in each group will advance to the knock out stage of the tournament.

  • All teams are required to complete a minimum of 30 overs in the allotted time of two hours and five minutes. Failure to do so by the side batting first would attract a penalty whereby batting, the number of overs bowled short would be deducted from the allotted overs. For example, if a side bowling first has bowled only 28 overs in the allotted time, then they would be allowed to bat for only 26 overs and so on. Should the team bowling second not complete their quota of overs in the allotted time, 10 runs will be added to the opponent for each over bowled short. In case of any waste of time, the umpires will be the soul judges of whether such delay was genuine and unavoidable or the side deserves to be penalized.

  • Each bowler can bowl a maximum of one fifth of the allotted overs.

  • Bouncers will not be allowed. Any bouncer above shoulder height in upright position will be called a 'No Ball' and a straight medium fast full toss over waist height in upright position will be called a 'No Ball'.

  • One run will be awarded for every 'No Ball' & 'Wide Ball' in addition to the number of runs scored off them. The Team Management should accordingly brief team scorers.

  • Not more then five fielders on the on-side of the wicket are permitted. In a 30 over match, only two fielders will be allowed to field outside the 30-yard circle in the first 9 overs of an innings. In case of any change in the number of allotted overs, the field restrictions will be limited to a maximum of 30% of the total allotted overs (fraction of an over will be ignored).

  • In case of a tie, the team with the loss of less number of wickets will be the winner.

  • If still a tie, then the match will be established on 25, 20 or 15 overs and so on till the result is achieved.

  • In case the match is abandoned due to rain or any other reason and there is no possibility of play, then one point will be awarded to each team.

  • In case of interruption by rain or any other reason, an over for every 4 minutes lost will be deducted from the allotted overs in the first innings and the same number of overs will be played by the team batting second. Match will not be of less than 15 overs to achieve result.

  • However in matches where the side batting first bats for the allotted overs and the innings of the side batting second is interrupted by rain or any other reason, then the side batting second will have to maintain the required over all scoring rate (runs per over) of the side batting first. For calculation of number of overs, any incomplete over will be counted as a full over e.g. 28.1 or 28.4 overs will be considered as 29 overs. For example, if a side batting first scores 150 runs in 30 overs, their overall scoring rate (runs per over) is 5 runs per over. Now if the innings of the side batting second is interrupted by rain or any other reason and suppose they lose 5 overs from their allotted overs, they will have to score 126 runs to win the match (25x5 runs per over being the average of the side batting first).

  • The following points will be awarded in the preliminary matches: -

    1. The team winning the match - 2 points.
    2. In a 'No Result' match, each team - 1 point.

  • If the teams are equal on points when deciding the group Qualifiers, priority will be given:

    1. To the team having won most matches.
    2. If still equal, to the team with faster scoring rate per over (pool average).
    3. The run rate shall be calculated by dividing the total number of overs played.
    4. If still equal, the total number of wickets lost will be taken into account. The team to have lost the lesser number of wickets will be winner.

  • If the match is abandoned totally of the minimum of 15 overs are not possible at the knockout stage then the average run rate in the previous league matches and number of points earned in the league matches plus point earned in a 6-ball shootout would be taken into account and the team earning the higher total will be declared the winner. In a 6-ball shootout, each player would be allowed to bowl only one ball in a proper bowling action and one point will be awarded if he is successful in hitting the stumps.

  • Players and teams who are registered with the recognized councils will only be allowed to play.

    1. Any player who is playing in 'A' Division is eligible to represent his employer's team in 'B' Division subject to being under the sponsorship of the same employer.

  • Protest other than that on umpiring decisions within the scope of the Laws of cricket shall be lodged within 24 hours of the completion of the match along with a fee of Dirhams 500. The Committee's decision will be final and binding to all concerned.

  • Teams are expected to ensure that proper sportsman spirit prevails during the matches. In case of any breach of this code, strict action will be taken.

  • The Council has a right to disallow any team from participating in the tournament for non-payment of participation fee and on disciplinary grounds.
