- The Council has provided organized community service in which thousands of youngsters are
involved in the development of healthy minds and bodies, and are kept busy playing Cricket
which has contributed to the Tourism effort.
- With the coverage by the electronic media of the International events to be staged, the exposure
of Dubai will be greater and to the far corners of the World.
- The Council has an internet website - www.dubaicricket.org, which is dedicated to promote Dubai
Cricket to overseas enthusiasts, Via the air waves, the Council provides the weekly activities
report of Dubai Cricket over Radio Asia AM service.
- With the assistance of International Cricket Council (ICC) - governing body of the world Cricket,
the Council will acquire additional expertise, playing gear for distribution on National schools
and related equipment to spread the techniques of the Game to the youth at the grass root level.
- ICC - Development Program (Asia Region), has supported the development work of DCC the result of
which, will contribute to Dubai's existing eminence of being the center of International sporting
excellence.
- Dubai played a very prominent and constructive role to take UAE Cricket to win the prestigious
ICC 'Stanley Cup' trophy in 1994, by virtue of which UAE qualified to participate in the Cricket
World Cup in 1996. Incidentally, this was the second time in history that UAE qualified to take
part in a World competition, the first time being in Football World Cup in 1990 staged in Italy.
Furthermore, the captain - Sultan Mohamed Al Zarawani, Vice Captain - Saeed Al Saffar, 2
Managers - Abdul Razzaque Kazim and Vikram Kaul, and the Sponsor - M/s Interface, of the UAE
Cricket Team, were all from Dubai.
- The Council has put in place, through the Schools, squad of more than 40 youth, dedicated to the
development of UAE Nationals and youngsters born here. This is with the aim of once again
qualifying for the Cricket World Cup, thereby bringing enormous publicity value abroad for Dubai
and the UAE.
- With the staging of 6th World Airlines Cricket Tournament in February 1998 at the Council's
complex at Zabeel East, It has been identified as the Cricket Centre of Dubai.

The Council believes that the activities should continue in a more greater proportion.
- The Council's facilities to continue to provide the opportunity for Nationals and other
youngsters to meet in a unified manner, as it believes that this helps to strengthen the
entire fabric of the society.
- In developing the playing facilities, Council may continue to take great care to conform to
the greening plan of Government of Dubai.
- The grass grounds of the Council are environmentally compatible and incorporated within the
green belt designated for the area.
- The Council's complex continues to place its facilities within close proximity of the
educational, residential and the working areas, as also the hospitals in event of injury caused
by playing in and around urban Dubai.
