Young Fast bowler Suresh bowled quick and extracted some pace from the pitch but could not prolonged the pressure.
UAE were moving along precariously at 4 for 85 when Nasir Siddiqui and Kashif Khan joined hands together to steady the ship. These two players played sensibly and prospered in an unbeaten 119 runs stand for the fourth wicket to guide the home team safely with 6 wickets in hand.
Malaysians could consider themselves unlucky because Nasir's ‘run out chance’ was not consulted to the third umpire by S K Bansal. Nasir got another life when he was dropped on 30 off Rakesh.
Suresh, Arul and Rohan claimed a wicket each for the dejected Malaysians.
Earlier, UAE fought back brilliantly and contained Malaysian for a modest 201 runs from 49.1 overs.
Openers Shankar and Rakesh provided Malayisans a superb start to the innings with 103 runs for the first wicket partnership.
Malaysian could not capitalize on that start and lost wickets at regular intervals.
Except For the openers, the middle order could not carry on the good work done earlier and resultantly UAE dominated the innings with disciplined bowling. Although UAE fielding was sloppy, they did not pay the price as batsmen threw away their wickets.
Mairaj Khaliq bowled a nagging line and length and returned with impressive figures of 4 for 33 from 10 overs while Mohd. Tauqir and Nasir Siddiqui claimed 2 wickets each.
